I want to do this! What's This? ..
ActiveX Controls is a small set of objects that can be shared by a variety of different programs on Microsoft Windows. This includes the automatic spell checker than runs through not only your word processor but the Internet browser. If you no longer want the ActiveX Controls on the computer, you can easily remove the application with a few clicks of your mouse.
.Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions.1
Click the "Start" button on the desktop, then select "Control Panel" from the pull-up menu. The Control Panel window opens with a variety of options available to you.
2
Double-click "Add or Remove Programs" in Windows XP. This launches a new, smaller window that displays all the current programs installed on the computer. In Windows Vista select "Programs" once the Control Panel is open and click "Features."
3
Select "ActiveX Controls." This is going to be toward the top of the list if it is in alphabetical order.
4
Click "Remove" and a small window appears asking if you are sure you want to remove ActiveX Controls. Click "Yes" and the application is removed.
