The Control Panel window opens with a variety of options available to you. 2 Double-click "Add or Remove Programs" in Windows XP. This launches a new, smaller window that displays all the current programs installed on the computer. In Windows Vista select "Programs" once the Control Panel is open and click "Features." 3 Select "ActiveX Controls." This is going to be toward the top of the list if it is in alphabetical order. 4 Click "Remove" and a small window appears asking if you are sure you want to remove ActiveX Controls.
